The Library of the experimental sciences, opened in July 2013 after three years of work, is the result of the merger of departments libraries of biology, chemistry, geosciences, and physics.
It is set at 29, rue d’Ulm in a renovated space of more than 600 m² (access map).
Dedicated to pupils and students, researchers and faculty members of the School, the library tries to adapt to the needs of its readers through extended opening hours and online services. It also welcomes teachers and researchers from neighbors and/or partner institutions or organizations interested in its collections.
Acquisition policy is coordinated with researchers and representatives of the partner departments but every reader is invited to suggest titles.
The BSE (Bibliothèque des sciences experimentales) is actively involved in Open Archives movement. Locally, the library takes part in submitting online versions of Theses and HDR defended at the ENS or cohabilitées by the laboratories of the School.
