Anomalous heat conduction in low-dimensional systems.
Roberto Livi (INFN, Florence)

Jeudi 03 octobre 2002

Recent progresses on the problem of describing heat—conduction in lattice systems by suitable microscopic models are surveyed. In particular, we shall discuss the origin of the anomalous transport properties characterizing low—dimensional systems.

The comparison between non—equilibrium and equilibrium calculations is shown to yield coherent results, that suggest the existence of universal properties depending on the space dimension

A short summary about the open theoretical problems and the possibility of experimental investigations and technological applications will be also presented.
