Parametric effects in semiconductor microcavities.
Antonio Quattropani (EPFL, Lausanne)

Jeudi 23 mai 2002

The coupled exciton-photon states (polaritons) in semiconductor microcavities embedded quantum wells is introduced and their quantum statistical properties are presented. The regime of stimulated parametric amplification below threshold is particularly considered.

The nonlinear dynamics is treated within a model of interacting bosons for the signal, pump and idler modes. The amount of squeezing of the radiation emitted out of the microcavity is discussed
