The goal of cancer immunotherapy is to try to act on the immune system of cancer patients, and to force it to eliminate cancer cells. For the last 30 years a number of clinical trials have been made, but the bottom line is in most cases a failure. Why ? Is there nevertheless something to be done in this line ?
After an introduction on the general principles used in the functioning of the immune system, I will try to answer these questions, that correspond to the activity of part of my group in Cochin.
