The non profit organization Paris-Montagne mobilizes scientific community to
create new kinds of science communication. The aim is to give opportunity to
youngsters from underpriviledged areas to discover science and research and give
them confidence to enroll in undergraduate studies despite social and cultural hindrances.
Besides we are convinced that science fosters active citizenship since the
scientific research process and democracy share core values. In order to facilitate
this direct dialogue between researchers and civil society, Paris-Montagne organizes
PhD student training to science communication. After a theoretical training
session, researchers can propose an internship in their laboratory, be part of a science
fest or discuss scientific subjects in English with a group of youngsters.
